“The world is moving so fast that there are days when the person who says it can’t be done is interrupted by the person who is doing it.”

The Montrose Area Kiwanis Club is proud to recognize the wonderful contributions of the May Citizens of the Month. This month, we highlight the importance of all mothers and mother figures in our lives. Each mother, whether biological, step, or otherwise, brings love and support to their children. They help shape the future and teach important values. We honor these strong women who care deeply for those around them. Their love is vital to building a strong, caring community for everyone. Each mother figure plays a key part in raising the next generation and making the world a better place. On this Mother's Day, we celebrate every type of mother. Each woman, whether a teacher, aunt, or friend, has a unique role in shaping the future. Let us take a moment to appreciate all mothers for their hard work and endless love. They are often our first friends and remain close throughout our lives. The efforts they put in every day can sometimes go unnoticed, but they make a huge difference. Their caring nature helps to create strong bonds in families and helps raise the next generation. So, thank you to all the mothers for being such wonderful role models and friends! ... The Montrose Area Kiwanis Club would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the heroes in our community. These individuals not only serve us daily but also contribute to the spirit of unity that defines our town. We appreciate everyone who purchased the 250th Celebration and Hometown Hero Banners. Your support has made it possible to celebrate our community's history and recognize those who have made significant contributions to our lives. Each banner represents a story and a legacy that brings pride to Montrose. A special shout-out goes to Down to Earth for generously supplying the telehandler needed for the installation. After a long 10-hour day, the determination and hard work of our volunteers truly made a difference. We are incredibly grateful to Bruce, Tom, Bob, Gary, Curt, and Steve for their dedication to putting up the banners. Their teamwork ensured that every banner was displayed perfectly, showcasing the pride we all feel for our community and its heroes. With the Hometown Hero and 250th banners now proudly hanging, our neighborhoods have undergone a beautiful transformation. The vibrant colors and messages of gratitude brighten our streets. As we approach America's Birthday, we are excited to celebrate not just our nation but also the incredible spirit of Montrose. The banners stand as a reminder of the heroes among us and the strong community ties that bind us together, making our town a wonderful place to live. ... See MoreSee Less
